These notes explain AudioShift’s use and subscription conditions. AudioShift is provided by the developer/provider named on its App Store product page. Contact: Note.Grid.Apps@gmail.com.
AudioShift uses Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for its app licence. These conditions explain AudioShift’s features and subscriptions alongside that agreement. They do not take away rights you have under consumer law. Third-party licences govern the components they cover.
Free features can be used without starting a subscription. Legacy access recognises an eligible earlier paid acquisition verified through Apple; updating the app does not by itself establish eligibility. Legacy features remain independent of Pro and do not require an ongoing Pro subscription. Pro adds access to the features described in the purchase screen while the subscription is active. A Legacy user may also subscribe to Pro without losing their underlying Legacy access.
Check the in-app feature descriptions before purchase. Do not assume every future feature, instrument, or platform capability is included with an earlier purchase. Any discount applies only if explicitly offered and confirmed in the purchase flow; these terms do not promise a permanent discounted price.
The purchase screen and Apple’s confirmation show the available subscription, billing period, currency, and total price. Monthly plans bill per month. Annual plans bill the full year upfront, not in monthly instalments. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Apple handles billing to your Apple Account; local prices and available offers may vary.
Where offered and you are eligible, Pro starts with a one-week free trial, then renews at the displayed subscription price. Apple determines introductory-offer eligibility. There is one introductory offer per subscription group, not a new trial for each plan, reinstall, or device. If no trial is offered for your account, the displayed purchase price applies immediately. You can continue using Free without starting a trial.
Use Manage subscriptions to check renewal and cancel. To avoid a trial renewal charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Deleting AudioShift does not cancel a subscription. The expiry date shown by Apple determines when access ends; trial cancellation may end access earlier. See Apple’s cancellation guidance.
Use Restore Purchases in AudioShift with the Apple Account that acquired the app or subscription. Purchase verification may require internet access. For App Store billing or refund requests, use Apple’s refund service. Apple handles these requests under its process and applicable law. You can also contact the developer about problems with AudioShift.
If a renewal payment fails and Apple confirms a billing grace period, Pro remains available until Apple’s reported grace deadline. Successful renewal continues access. Payment retries alone do not provide Pro after that deadline.
Subscription expiry does not itself erase saved projects, recordings, lyrics, or extra folders. Pro-dependent actions or access may be restricted, and previously available data may be shown as locked. Free features and verified Legacy access remain. Export important work before access ends and keep backups; preserving local data is not a promise of cloud storage or recovery after deletion or device loss.
The included Upright Piano is available offline. MIDI recording and user-instrument import require Pro and sufficient local storage. Studio accepts compatible SF2 and DLS sound banks, or a flat folder containing one EXS instrument and its WAV samples. The import limit is 1 GiB per instrument, including samples, and 256 files per EXS folder, including the EXS definition. EXS subfolders are not supported. Each sound-bank file provides one instrument choice using the first preset reported by Apple’s sampler; AudioShift does not provide a browser for all presets in a bank. Not every file with a supported extension will work. Plugins and executable instrument code are not supported.
Instrument and editor imports copy selected content without changing the originals; the music library instead references the folder you select. Import checks reduce file-handling risks but do not establish ownership or guarantee compatibility. Hardware input/output requires a compatible device and any necessary permissions. Available export formats depend on system support.
Chord, key, tempo, and lyric analysis provides estimates for practice, not guaranteed transcription. Lyric drafts require compatible iOS/iPadOS 26 or later hardware and an Apple-supported language; a language-model download may be needed. Tuning and level readings depend on input, calibration, and surroundings. Sound Meter is not certified equipment for health, occupational-safety, or regulatory measurements. Keep listening levels safe and review results before relying on them. Compatibility with every file or peripheral is not promised.
The Pro Sampler lets you make instruments from your own audio files, recordings, and compatible imported instruments, without downloading additional sample libraries. Sampler editing, live playback, and using sampler instruments for new Studio MIDI renders require Pro. Audio-sample pitch can follow the played note while preserving playback duration, rather than speeding up or slowing down the sample. Large pitch changes can introduce audible artefacts. Imported sound banks use their own sample mappings and playback behaviour.
Audio imports must be readable mono or stereo files, between 0.01 seconds and 30 minutes, at 8-192 kHz, and no larger than 512 MiB per source file. Imported audio is decoded into local CAF files, which can be larger than the source. Projects allow up to 64 zones, with a 2 GB storage budget for project imports and recordings, including retained audio/revisions. Play mode preloads selected sample ranges with a 128 MiB decoded stereo-audio budget; a compressed file’s size does not tell you how much playback memory it needs. Banks, effects, and the rest of the app need additional memory. These are limits, not guarantees that every project will perform reliably on every device. Test your complete setup before a performance and keep backups.
Sampler also accepts the compatible bank formats described above, plus a limited SFZ import: select a folder with one SFZ definition and its WAV samples. Only sample assignment, key/range/root, gain, pan, and fine tuning are supported; other commands are rejected rather than silently approximated. SFZ import is limited to 64 regions within the project’s 64 zones, 256 files including the definition, and 1 GiB of source content, with at most two nested folder levels. The audio-import limits above also apply to its samples. SFZ is not a direct Studio import format; a compatible Sampler instrument can be enabled for Studio. Size limits use MiB/GiB for binary units and GB for decimal units.
AudioShift does not claim ownership of material you create or import. Rights you already hold remain yours; rights belonging to other people remain theirs. Importing, recording, transcribing, sampling, editing, or exporting does not give you rights you did not have in the source material, including music, lyrics, recordings, artwork, videos, and instrument samples.
Use material you own, have permission to use, or can use on another lawful basis. Access to a song or video through a streaming service does not by itself grant permission to copy, sample, or distribute it. Obtain the permissions needed for your intended use and for recording other people. Private practice and public distribution may have different rules. AudioShift supplies local tools, not rights clearance. Do not use it to infringe rights or bypass copy protection.
Apple’s EULA sets out warranty and liability terms, subject to the consumer rights described above. AudioShift provides no additional voluntary warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep backups and use appropriate professional tools for safety-critical decisions.
These conditions may be updated to reflect features or legal requirements, with a revised date and any legally required notice. A wording update alone does not cancel existing consumer rights or silently change an agreed subscription price. For questions about access, defects, or these conditions, contact the developer using the address above.
